A man on
Horseback
Has an allure
For folks who only
Walk about looking
At their shoes but unable
To resist looking up at a horse
And rider who represent adventure
But in truth cowboys are dirt poor
Uneducated hardscrabble guys
Who live in poverty heal up or
Get worse live hard lives
Alone except for friends
Who are also cowboys
All doing the job cuz
Nothing else is as
Rewarding free
Of a desk or
Uniform too
Likely on
Saturday night
To cut loose once
In awhile they are not
Pretentious but generous
To a fault and almost gone
Riding into the western sunset.
If you are an attractive young
Woman or even if you are
Any woman it might be
Best with a cowboy
Not to get up into
That banged up
Pickup on a
Saturday
Night
Late.
