We are a
Fascinating
Species given
To friendliness
And to selfishness
In nearly equal parts.
We have developed over
Time helped by our ability
To communicate aided by our compassion for others even other
Species while acquisitive to the
Point of madness in our frenzy
To acquire wealth to give us
Security from want so who
Are we as a human being.
We are all both good
And bad some lean
One way or the
Other but for
The most
Part we
Are
More
Curious
Than cantankerous.
We are capable of love
And hate but prefer the former
Though fear impels us to the latter.
Fear of pain or want triggers our
Most heartless acts against
Ourself and others though
With love we are capable
Of altruism balanced
On Occam’s razor
Each with free
Will to pick
What we
Will do
Each
Day.
