Grifter in power tapping
Into the insecurities of the
Old white middle class now
Working class on the edge of
Economic collapse sick and tired
Of hearing the media trumpet the
Plight of minorities here and of
Little girls smocked head to
Foot in Afghanistan or clad
Otherwise in Somalia on
Their way to school to
An education to set
Them free until
Their very own
Cousins shot
Them down
As change
Takes time
Not just money
Taken from Americans
Without healthcare housing
Or hope leading to what social
Workers notice with abused
Children, the abused child
Always clings to the
Abusing parent.
