New car so I said I would give
It away to those who need it
As I have a small pension
Sufficient to live simply
And an old car so the
Voice on the phone
Then said how if
We come now
To your home
To rob you?
He asked
What
Then?
I laughed.
I said to him
You have a very
Fascinating accent
Is it east European as
It sounds like a slightly
Higher pitched nasal quality
Much like Roman Polanski in
The old film Chinatown but
The less afraid I sounded
The higher the pitch of
His voice angrier and
More threatening so
I confess I laughed
As he was funny
Trying to scare
An old person
But getting
Nowhere

Chance

A scam call
Just laugh and
Report the caller
As I am about to do
And hopefully the bunko
Squad which will be some
Nice older policeman will
Try to contact these
Scammers and
Give them an
Attitude
Adjustment.
Meanwhile laugh
At those who deal
In fear and ignorance
Trying to intimidate
Any who take too
Easily to fright
