Traveling

I am sitting
With some new
Friends at breakfast
At a table in a cafe and
The gentlemen remarks to
Me that I have traveled a lot
To which I reply I’ve been
Traveling all my life but
Then I think about it
And life does seem
A travel from here
To there meeting
New friends all
The way as
We learn
Who we
Are or
Are not
Learning
How to get
Along how to
Play well with others.
How we can never go back
Home except in memories
And even then unclear
Because we only
Remember the
Past as we
Want to
But I
Suppose
Our journey
Forward in time
Is much the same
So traveling all my
Life has taught me
To hold on to the now
Appreciate the present
Try not to burn it up
Knock it down
Trip all over
Again on
The
Same
Sidewalk
Crooked crack,
Try to pay attention.
