Fall in love against
All better judgement and
Having taken the fall we never
Know when it will end so when she
Contacted me after 48 years apart
Without a word we agreed to meet
At some neutral place to talk over
Old wounds of the heart and see
How the other had aged and to
Our surprise we took up where
We had left off all those years
Ago in London as though no
Decades had past nor our
Lives but fresh as that
Day we parted both
Aware no other
Choice was
Open but
Now we
Can be
Friends again.
