Whose heart
Has not leapt,
To skip a stone
Across a pond?
I am like the stone,
Trying for another
Splash before I sink
Out of sight
Beneath the water.
I hit the surface
Bounce off and up,
And soar through
The air,
Refreshing,
Exhilarating,
Alive.
An entire lifetime
In one skip.
I am more than
Just a stone,
I am in tandem
With another,
We soar together,
We will make
Memories to
Last us through
The days and
Nights together.
A better us,
A chance
To learn
