Birthday

My birthday was spent
Getting an MRI on my
Right foot and ankle.
A diabetic ulcer has
Canceled my January
Voyage to Tahiti.
I will try to make my March
To May voyages to the
South Seas, Japan,
Alaska and Vancouver.
I am scheduled for hyperbaric
Treatment, wound care and
More angioplasty.
Sounds a bit like a
Patsy Kline song,
Though we will see.
So, I will try to heal
A damaged foot,
Far from the embrace,
Of my heart’s desire,
Stove in, beached
And rolled for
Repairs. Does she
Think of me?
Miss my
Embrace?
She is so shy
At heart.
