Walk II

I am seven
Walking with
My father along
A sidewalk trying
To keep up when I
Call to him to slow his
Pace arguing that as his
Legs are twice as long as
Mine. For clarity, he is 6’4’’
Tall a gold medal winner in
Track and high hurdles plus
He is 38. He turns his head to
Look at me stops lifts me up on
His shoulders telling me to hold
On to his ears as he fast strolls
Down the block a much better
Way for me to keep up and a
Pattern of trying to keep up
I repeat in ethics morals
Character all my life to
Try to impart to my
Three sons who
Ironically all
Are over
Six feet
Tall to
My 5
Feet
7”
At 75.
Mark
Antony’s
Lend me your
Ears always
Makes me
Smile.
