Blinds

This is the point
In the play where
The southern heroine
Strides to center stage she
Holds her hand to her brow and
Declares, “Open the blinds ... open
All the blinds!” Would we could
But opening any blinds tends
To be difficult as we do not
Want to see out any more
Than others want to see
In yet the thin southern
Heroine is quite right
In that if we are to
Live life fully we
Must see it and
Be seen by it
For what is
There not
What is
Hidden
Away
So open
The damn
Blinds and see
And be seen and
Smile as the sunbeams
Dance in the sunlight
Moonbeams glide
In soft moonlight
Shy fierce eyes
Lock onto an
Other’s too
Long cast
Down,
Now
Looking
Steady back.
This is only the
Denouement and
The climax, yet to come.
But first, open all the blinds.
