Lake

The wind
Whips the
Lake into a
Rough chop
All waves up
Then down to
A rhythm faster
As the wind rises
Marching like ranks
Of an army countless
In numbers and I recall
My time at sea and the
Lesson that water can
Bend steel so as the
Wind whistles past
Me I am glad to be
Safe ashore and
Not out on the
Rough waters
Musing that
The Viking
Ships had
Clinkered
Planks to
Twist and
Bend in seas
That would snap
A tree trunk plank or
Bend steel. Just so with
Principles too stiff to handle
The storms of life so better
To bend than to break
Better to run away
And live to fight
Another day
Better a
Jacob
Than
Esau.
I am so
Blessed.
