Ides

Ides,
I would
Haves never
Done, regretted.
Ides are what failed
Loves are made of but
I did not see how selfish
Love can be, I thought
To love we accept a
Person as they are
Not as we wish so
A lesson painful
Of depression
But I cherish
The good
Times
We had
Together
When hope
Outweighed
Any hesitation.
Too late for ides,
Time to move
Forward but
Not easy to
Pull your
Self up
By the
Roots
At 74 then
Start all over
Again but with
Help from family
And friends time to
Leave ides and go build
Anew, patch an old heart
And to my utter surprise
To borrow a line from
Daphne Moon said to
Niles in a storm by
The fireplace late
Night with faulty
Electricity when
A broken music
Box played, oh
Dr. Crane! Your
Glockenspiel
Has sprung
To life! Ides
Rather be
In Texas
With an
Evening
Star.
