Campus protests are
Not about real racial or
Ethnic disparagement but
About a demonstrated power
By some protest group to show
The ability to disrupt is control
And dictate their agenda not
To implement a more fair
And equitable system
But simply to control
In order to enjoy
The power to
Disrupt over
Study read
Attend
Class
To learn.
Too often the
Same happens
In street protests
Become adolescent
Temper tantrums screaming
For media attention by
Rioting vandalism
Arson by both
Those for or
Against the
Protest
Point
Overwhelm
Media coverage
And any progress fails.
Street protests after
Dark are just an
Opportunity to
Burn down
Your city
Then
Say
My bad.
