Player in life as you both want
To win but hopefully not to the point
Of cheating though like flattery
It is a most sincere form of
The human desire for
Attention
Admiration
And affection
But in a board game
One can be as ruthless
Deceptive guileful as possible
All qualities we abhor in others but
Accept in our board game opponent.
Like in a dream we allow our id
Free reign to plot and
Ponder attack and
Raid across the
Board all with
A smile or
A laugh
Happy
To roll
The dice
Tempt fate
Conquer or die
All on a board game.
