I am fortyish
Attending a play
At the UT Performing
Arts Center one evening
With my wife Lindy meeting
Her co-workers from the Texas
Memorial Museum but earlier that
Saturday she has had a minor fall
Putting her wrist in a sling and a
Bandaid above one eye which
Causes at first sight a stir
Among her friends in the
Lobby so I use my best
Texas twang to clarify
“I told her not to get
Out of the pickup”
The incongruity
Causing them
To laugh as
We are at
Greater
Tuna
Performance
Driving a VW bus.
