But for this week in Acapulco
With my friend Paul sharing a room
At the Hotel Hornos on a high floor
Four flights above where the hotel
Elevator ends service and it has
Been a long day traveling north
To see the silhouettes of great
Sharks in the high waves and
Swimming in the bay foolish
Of the risk then flirting with
A young woman a few
Years older than I so
When I wake in bed
She is studying my
Face as I have
Fallen asleep
While we lay
Embraced
And she
Sees I
Am
Still a
Boy even
With a glib
Tongue who
Looks a man
And she lies with
Me as we talk but she
Will not spend the night as
She sees me too young and I
Smile at our exchange of insight
Happy to see she is a good person.
