My Grandpa was
A horse and buggy era
Democrat who farmed and
Coal mined at the start of the
20th Century married to a woman
Who believed in God and family
Bore eleven children raised the
Old fashioned way many of
Whom are still alive and
Kicking in 2019 much
The same as their
Mom and Dad
Made them
In the first
Half of
The last
Millennium
Just like me.
Grandpa was
A Democrat because
In Southern Illinois the mine
Owners and a few rich folks were
Republicans who cared about
Tax breaks for the wealthy
Along with special tax
Breaks, so much the
Same as today as
You can fool all
Of the people
Some of the
Time and
Some of
The people
All of the time,
But you can’t fool
All of the people all
Of the time unless they
Watch FOX. Strange
Some folks take
Pride in their
Ignorance.
