Which they asked why?
Why not a panegyric praise
For someone rather than truth
Which hurts half the time and
Disturbs the facade of calm
Superiority where our own
Rationalizations pass for
Truth and do not upset.
Only analysts seek an
Objective rendering
Of history though
So many heads
Are already in
The ground
Perhaps
Novels
Are
A
Better
Venue for
Objective truth
Untainted by special
Interests each eager to
Include their own panegyrics.
Still, it is refreshing to read
An objective history free
Of subjective cant too
Common in our time,
Best to find some
Text from long
Ago to read
History with
The bark on,
So much easier
To spot prejudice
When it does not pose
As politically correct cant.
