Poor

We are poor
In our 20s and
Know the need
To put back some
Items at the grocery
Store check out line if
Short of cash but we have
Access to higher education
And will work our way clear of
Debt by better jobs night & day.
Worse is poverty unending with no
Way to tell truth from propaganda
On the editorial commentary they
Claim is news but lacks any real
Journalistic integrity so I warn
My students if their left ear
Hurts it’s MSNBC if their
Right ear hurts it’s FOX
If their eyes hurt CNN
And if their nose it’s
PBS but a mix of all
May be OK though
A good newspaper
Is probably better
If it is one of the
Best and not
Some advert
Rubber
Stamp for
The same media
Moguls who try to
Bend the truth to suit
Their own greedy need
To keep the uneducated
Easy to fool
Gullible to rumor
Ready to sneer
At those who
Know to read
And learn
That lies
Repeated
Are not the truth.
