As she courted her base of
Woman and minorities neither
Of which saw themselves as her
Base but her worst mistake was to
Denigrate those who work to live
Month to month getting the job
Done by hard work and grit
Who prided themselves as
Deplorables and wore the
Disparaging appellation
And proud of it since
They embraced the
Jacksonian rebel
Over the hated
Politically
Correct
Icon
Of hypocrisy
Whose whole
Life had been to
Better the condition
Of those who despised
Her and whose emphasis
On her base was meant to
Include the working class in
America but failed to give
Them the reassurance
FDR gave by his radio
Speech’s and friendly
Smile to encourage
Those whom the
Elite saw as the
Deplorables
But were
Working
Folks
Who
Scrimped
But did not
Save since such
Goals as savings
Were an upper middle
Class luxury to those whose
Views were hardened by
Slanted right wing news
Rather than slanted
Left wing news and
No Walter Cronkite
To trust as fair
And unbiased
When each
Year they
Work
Harder
For less
Reward and
Blame those who
Label them as
Deplorables
And proud
Of it.
