Docs say they
Must cut off the front
Of my right foot,
Diabetic ulcer has
Infected bone.
I told them to cut
Until it bleeds.
No other option
If wound is to heal.
Why hesitate when
No other option.
I will make the most
Of the opportunity
To learn.
I will learn to walk
Again on two
Perfectly good stumps,
And dance a slow
Dance with you.

That dance?
