Night I

Dark has come again,
Stars shine and the
Moon beams,
In a winter sky,
And I am alone.
How strange it seems
To me to sleep alone.
Eat alone.
Live alone.
My family softens
My solitude,
But I seek a companion
To share my life.
It seems women these
Days would rather
Share their beds
Than their hearts.
Why not comply and
Abandon my search
For someone to love.
I will not give up,
My heart’s desire
To be part of a
Couple and share smiles
Over a meal,
A voyage
Together,
Or a dream.
